Local action groups in the fisheries sector

On January 22, 2016, by resolution of the Minister of the Sea, the following GALPs and fishing zones were selected and their FDPs were approved:

GALP A Mariña Ortegal: Ribadeo, Barreiros, Foz, Burela, Cervo, Xove, Viveiro, O Vicedo, Mañón, Ortigueira, Cariño, Cedeira, Valdoviño.

GALP Golfo Ártabro Norte: Ferrol, Neda, Fene, Narón, Ares, Mugardos, Cabanas, Pontedeume, Minho, Paderne.

GALP Golfo Ártabro Sur: A Coruña, Arteixo, Bergondo, Cambre, Culleredo, Oleiros, Sada

GALP Costa da Morte: A Laracha, Carballo, Malpica, Ponteceso, Cabana de Bergantiños, Laxe, Camariñas, Vimianzo, Muxía.

GALP Seo de Fisterra Ría de Muros-Noia. Costa Sostible: Fisterra, Corcubión, Cee, Dumbría, Carnota, Muros, Outes, Noia, Porto do Son.

GALP Ría de Arousa: Ribeira, A Pobra do Caramiñal, Boiro, Catoira, Rianxo, Vilagarcía de Arousa, Vilanova de Arousa, Illa de Arousa, Cambados, Ribadumia, O Grove.

GALP Ría de Pontevedra: Meaño, Sanxenxo, Marín, Poio, Pontevedra, Bueu.

GALP Ría de Vigo-A Guarda: Cangas, Moaña, Vilaboa, Soutomaior, Redondela, Vigo, Nigrán, O Rosal, Oia, Baiona, A Guarda.

Association

The GALPs are composed of entities representing local public and private socio-economic interests within the area, and neither public authorities nor any specific interest rate represents more than 49% of voting rights in decision-making . The entities that form part of the GALP represent the following sectors:

a) Fishery sector: associations and entities of collective fishing interest, shellfish and aquaculture with own legal personality.

b) Social sector: socio-cultural, sporting, ecological, recreational and educational associations, women's associations, associations related to social inclusion and others similar.

c) Economic sector: associations of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs, associations of economic agents and trade union organizations.

d) Public sector: made up of local public administrations and public sector entities linked to or dependent on them.
