I Blue Economy Awards

The 1st Blue Economy Awards are created by the Consellería del Mar to recognize the outstanding projects that were subsidized in 2016 under the auspices of the Orden de 24 de mayo de 2016 por la que se establecen las bases reguladoras para la concesión de ayudas para proyectos al amparo de las estrategias de desarrollo local participativo (EDLP), aprobadas a los grupos de acción local del sector pesquero para el desarrollo sostenible de las zonas de pesca en el marco del Fondo Europeo Marítimo y de Pesca 2014-2020, y se convocan las correspondientes al año 2016 (DOG nº 109 del 9 de junio de 2016).

The candidates were selected from those proposed by the Grupos de Acción Local del sector pesquero de Galicia (GALP)

What is the voting system?

There are three candidate projects in each of the above categories, and you can choose your favorite projects through this website.

Each person can vote for only one of the projects in each category. The project that receives the highest number of votes in each category will be awarded.

You will be able to vote your favorite projects from the 2nd to the 22nd of October.

The prizes, which will distinguish the most outstanding projects, will be awarded in an event to be held on October 27.

What are the categories?

This category aims to promote projects that benefit small-scale coastal fishing, either developed by the sector itself or that provide solutions that contribute to better management of resources or sectoral organization, or reinforce the role of the sector in the governance structures of fishery resources. This category is intended to support projects that stimulate the economy of fishing areas, strengthen their attractiveness, train people and promote entrepreneurship, among others. Click here if you want to know the candidates of this category.

This category aims to promote diversification within and outside the fisheries sector, in particular new activities in the fisheries and maritime sector, the linking of tourism and the fishing sector, and the promotion and use of the maritime and fishing cultural heritage, among others. This category aims to promote innovation at the local level, ie new ideas, new ways of thinking to do. Innovation can take different forms: new markets, new products, new services, new organizational methods, including social innovation. Click here if you want to know the candidates of this category.
